2:00pm Tour of the famous Speigeltent
Since Marlene Dietrich sang Falling In Love Again in The Famous Spiegeltent in the 1930s, its magic mirrors have reflected thousands of images of artists, audiences and exotic gatherings. Like every old theatre, her ghosts travel with her, woven into ballooning velvet canopies, the circular teak dance floor and stained cut-glass windows. Her intimate booths, ornate bar and bevelled mirror columns hold a million secrets under the glorious Art Nouveau chandelier.

4:45 BLOW Aotea Center Foyer
BLOW is an interactive installation experience of New Zealand performance art and design. An interdisciplinary approach to performance media; lighting, sound, projection, set, object, costume, sensory, surface, body and space. BLOW will parallel a theatrical event as a site of transformation, generation and cultural memory. BLOW will operate as both an installation and as a performance, a cross-sensory experience of art and design, where the worlds created continually transform. BLOW will transgress the perceived boundaries between visual arts, performing arts, architecture and design.
BLOW is designed and curated by Tracey Collins and Sue Gallagher, (who presented this project at an Insiders talk last year) in collaboration with NZ performance artists and designers.

There are many other excellent visual art events on as part of AK07 but we will not have time as a group to see them all.
I recommend that you plan another day out particulalry to see JOC – Jewellery Out of Context (Objectspace), Rare View, curated by Lisa Reihana (Moving Image Center) and Mirror Worlds (Two Rooms).
