THURS 22 MARCH 12.30-1.30pm - A MUST FOR ANYONE ENGAGED IN DESIGN FOR APARTMENT LIVING!
Aaron Sills, a partner at Sills van Bohemon Architecture will speak about Contemporary European Living: What can NZ learn? As part of research for the recently published “Good Solutions Guide for Apartments” Aaron visited apartment developments in Finland, Sweden, Holland and Switzerland. He will show images from apartment developments there and discuss what architects and designers in New Zealand can learn from these examples.

Hamish Nevile, Project Director at Holmes Consulting Group (Structural & Civil Engineers) has worked in the UK for the past 8 years for engineering giants Ove Arup & Partners. His talk is entitled Collaboration - 'to work together in a joint intellectual effort': An engineers perspective. Hamish worked with some high profile architects overseas including Oscar Niemeyer, Alvaro Siza, toya Ito & Rem Koolhaas. He will share his experiences and focus on examples where engineering solutions made a significant contribution to the result. He will also explain his philosophy for design communication and collaboration.
