Architecture Lectures Thursday at Lunchtime

We have a fantastic line-up of seminars for next term 3 and we know you won't want to miss any of them! They are as follows and further details (including locations) can be obtained from http://architecture.unitec.ac.nz

Thurs 26th July 2007, 12.30-1.30pm
Dr Rodney Wilson, Noel Lane and Chris Mackenzie will be presenting "Afternoon at the Museum: The architectural re-vamping of Auckland War Memorial Museum".
Please note this seminar will be held in the new auditorium of the museum. Details on how to find it are given on our website (click on link above). The auditorium seats 196, which is lucky as this seminar in which the Museum Director, Project Architect and Project Engineer will discuss the project, is bound to be popular. This is a first for the seminar series, holding a site-specific seminar and we're really excited about it.

Thurs 9th August 2007, 12.30-1.30pm
Cesar Wagner will be presenting a seminar entitled "Responsive Landscape: The work of Roberto Burle Marx".
Who better to discuss the impressive work of the well known landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, than a native Brazilian. Cesar lectures in architecture at Unitec and is comfortable making the crossover into the garden genre. This is a must for all those who enjoy colour and luxuriant plants, artfully designed and combined into magical landscapes.

Thurs 23rd August 2007, 12.30-1.30pm
Gavin Lister, director of Isthmus Group, Landscape Architects will present a seminar based on his recent Urban Design Masters studies, called "Urban Neighbourhoods".
Gavin's seminar will focus on the ideal position of landscape architects to lead urban design and bring together design and broad scale planning. This is a significant role for the profession and an important seminar for all those with an interest in urban design.

All seminars are free and open to the public. We look forward to welcoming you to any or all of these seminars. Venue locations are given on the website.
