Curtaian Call Studio

Dear students,

Next Monday (3rd March) we will be participating in the model making workshop with Sean Flanagan at 9.30am in Room 2144. Please bring a range of different papers/carboard, scissors, craft knife, glue, and sellotape to the session. I have asked you to attend this session as a 'warm up' because modelling, in one form or another (physical or virtual) will be an important component of the theatre project. You will also get to some extraordinarily detailed models that Sean has made.

I will distribute a new sub-brief on Monday outlining what you need to do during the week. By now I imagine you have begun your research: looking at the books on desk copy, identifying plays of interest and beginning to examine how these plays have been performed and how different set designers have interpreted the narrative structure of the plays. I would like you to present your research (texts, images and analysis) to the group on Thursday of next week. (venue to be confirmed)

Ingrid has already lined up another excellent speaker so will keep you posted. I will also organise a theatre experience next week-one that challenges the relationship between audience and spectator! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries you might have,

with best regards,

Rachel.
